This week was a quick visit to Sunday visit to one of the many harbors and inlets that dot the landscape of my hometown on Long Island. I only had a hour or two on a Sunday and the cloud cover was approaching quick. The sunset was going to be less than spectacular. There was no wind which means I could look for good reflections on the water, especially around the boats, docks, and fishing piers. If the sky will not cooperate than maybe the water would. The good light was fading fast as the clouds(and rain) is quickly approaching; I needed to work fast.
I would considerate on lines and light hoping maybe to catch those two elements in a wavy abstract on the waters surface. That was the goal however, I had to modify my expectations when i matched my abilities and the deteriorating conditions.
This week’s photo is a sail boat reflection tied up to a dock as the final light of the sky fades.
