Another year comes to a close. It's only natural to look back at my photographic efforts of the last twelve months. My focus here will be on my successes. Those rare instances when I get it right - in my opinion, of course. This past year was a busy one with lots of travel. A late summer trip to Europe, winter in Key West, Florida and three trips to the Maine Coast. Mix in several trips to other New England...

This week I took a quick overnight trip to Rockport, Massachusetts. Actually is was a scheduled overnight trip to drop my son off at The College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Ma for orientation. Nothing against Worcester, it is a lovely city but for photo opportunities I figured my chances were better if I made the hour and fifteen minute drive to Rockport and spent the night there. This week started with the completion of the West Virginia trip. The trip was a bust for evening and morning light but provided excellent conditions for waterfalls and other landscape opportunities. One of those "other" landscape opportunities was a foggy trip on to the Dolly Sods Wildness in the Monongahela National Forest. The original plan was to head up to the top for sunrise images. Spring has sprung on Long Island. The grays and blues of the winter season have been replace by the green and yellows of spring. it takes a while to get started but once it does it happens quickly. This weeks photo was taken at a section of Long Island's Greenbelt trail. The trail which is open to both hikers and bicycles.
