Favorite 2017 Photos

Posted by
Like countless others on the internet its time for me to pick my personal favorite 2017  images.  Thousands of photos spanning all four seasons with one simple goal - to find my favorite photos.  The criteria for selection is simple, it has to be one of my favorites.   Picking a personal favorite can happen a number of ways, a fond memory of the excursion or location.  An image need not be perfect (or even good) for inclusion.   Even technical problems or a...

This week finds me back home on Long Island enjoying some winter weather of our own.  A mid-December snowstorm has blanketed the area, creating some nice winter photography opportunities.   When snowstorms hit the island I like to head for the beaches.  The coupling of the coastal beach, traditionally associated with summer and the snowy landscape make for a lovely contradiction that do compliment each other.   The auburn colored sand, the warm light of a rising sun and blueish white of a fresh snow...

This week I took a quick overnight trip to Rockport, Massachusetts.  Actually is was a scheduled overnight trip to drop my son off at The College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Ma for orientation.  Nothing against Worcester, it is a lovely city but for photo opportunities I figured my chances were better if I made the hour and fifteen minute drive to Rockport and spent the night there.  This offered me one sunset and one sunrise in Rockport.  Hopefully the weather...
