Better Weather today but the leaf drop is picking up in intensity and bare trees become more numerous and the reds and yellows turn an amber shade of brown in central Vermont. Still plenty of color in pockets if you are willing to do a little driving in the back woods. The sun played hide and seek all day and occasionally gave me something to work with – first light was near the town of Bethel and the sun poked it rays for all of a minute at sunrise this morning before settling in behind a large blanket of clouds.
When the sun gods will not offer me anything to work with I usually head for streams to photograph moving water as it makes it way through the mountains. I headed over towards the Killington area to one of my favorite streams, aptly named Roaring Brook. Better weather is forecast for the next couple of days and I will have to head south and west in search of better foliage.
