As each year comes to a close it entirely natural to look back and review the years photographic successes and failures. Luckily 2015’s photographic opportunities were plentiful, with ample travel opportunities to many locations. Vermont, Maine, Boston, Cape Ann, Cape Cod, Washington DC, Ireland, Scotland and of course my home-base – Long Island have all kept me and my camera very busy.
Some trips work out better than others just as some photos are better than others. It is with full knowledge of the subjective nature of a good image that I place my stamp of approval on fifteen images as my favorite. I am not saying that these are are my only 15 good images or even that they are good at all, but they are my favorites. The judging criteria is simple and entirely mine – I must like the photo. The reasons will vary, such as a pleasant experience at the time of image capture to various positive social network comments or some combination in-between. Here they are:
A winter’s sunset on Northport Harbor on Long Island
A snowy January day in Peacham, Vermont
A spring morning in Washington DC
The waves form a pattern in Maine
The “Happy Colors” of summer Kayaks in Rockport Mass.

Just some ropes hanging around, actually a new lens test shot.
